a.k.a. God, please don't let it be ugly.
I think everybody hopes their kid doesn't turn out to be ugly or funny looking. I will admit I am guilty. What if your kid is not cute?
The best way to answer this is to figure out the definition of cute. I could bore you with a bit of sciency stuff and important sounding names. But, I will cut to the chase. Basically, after doing lots of research, scientists figured out the following make stuff cute: A large head relative to body size, rounded head, large, protruding forehead, large eyes relative to face, eyes below mid line of head, rounded and protruding cheeks, rounded body shape, and soft, elastic body surfaces. This applies to lots of animals too.

But, we all know there is such a thing as ugly babies. I often wondered why some parents just couldn't see it. Scientist believe that there is a basic biological function in humans that brain washes you into thinking your kid is adorable.
Babies need constant care. They can not feed or protect themselves. So, mother nature casts a spell on you to fall in love with your child so you will provide that which they can not.
This is not limited to parents. We all have this basic trait ingrained in us. It is survival of the species. We all end up holding someone's kid at some point. That trait is what makes us gently hand the baby back when they are poopy instead of dropping it and running away.
I know Hubigail will be beautiful and I will fall in love completely. But, I hope mother nature doesn't have to use too much fairy dust to convince me. And, if you think I am talking about your kid, I most certainly am not. Your kid is adorable.
